I've always wanted a house that's somewhere tropical, something modern that's surrounded by nature. So, will the new release of Midjourney V5 I decided to build one and create a real estate listing for it! -- visually of course (for now).

I still can't believe that within a few short months we went from needing years of experience with a platform like unreal engine or some crazy skill in graphic design, to being about to enter a short sentence into a chatbox and having AI do all the heavy lifting.

AI is revolutionizing our world at such a fast pace that it's truly mind boggling. Almost every industry is going to be hit with this tsunami wave that is AI innovation. There is going to be some huge breakthroughs even in the next year, and also some unrepairable damages to our society.

With all big changes come pushback though. Some think that AI is going to help turn our world into a better place and some argue that it's progressing too fast for us to control.

For now though, we're just going to forget about all that and make a beautiful house in a tropical paradise. So let's start building!

The goal is to come out with A full real estate listing with photos of the:

1. Outside of the house
2. Living Room
3. Kitchen
4. Dining room
5. Master bedroom
6. Guest room
7. Bathroom
8. Office
9. Swimming Pool
10. Garage
11. Surrounding Areas

We'll also top it off at the end with a full listing display and a description of the house and it's surroundings that we'll make with GPT-4.

How build a house with Midjourney

First off, if you are totally new to Midjourney here's a little into. Midjourney uses AI and machine learning to generate (somewhat) original images from a text input you give it (called a prompt). It pulls data from pretty much the entire internet and uses all of it to try and visually match your text.

So. let's build this.

I'm going to start by defining some of the things I want for this house.

1. Somewhere tropical where I can spearfish.
2. Modern and spacious with lots of light.
3. Indoor plants are a must.
4. A space for an inside greenhouse? I think yes.
5. Let's Put the whole thing on a mountain so we get amazing views from every window.
6. I'm thinking I'd like some Japanese elements to the home.
7. This needs to be creative, after all we're making something with AI.

Let's call that good for now.

Building the Prompt

Now that we have all our specifications let's write them in a way the Midjouney will understand.

We're going to give Midjourney the following in a natural sentence format:

1. Viewpoint
2. Object
3. Description of Object
4. Location
5. Location Description
6. Parameters

It'll look like this:

/imagine prompt: Outside view of a massive house with a modern unique design with lots of glass sitting on a mountain in Hawaii surrounded by a lush jungle, overlooking the turquoise ocean, natural lighting --ar 16:9 --v 5 --q 2

The parameters at the end simply mean:

1. --ar 16:9 We want an aspect ratio of 16:9, this way it fits on our desktop better.
2. --v 5 We want to use the new version 5 of Midjourney
3. --q 2 We want to double the normal quality so our images look 👌(keep in mind this uses more credits)

Let's enter it into Midjourney and see what we get!

1. Creating the Exterior of the House

First run of the prompt and we get this:

Not bad at all. I could live in one of these.

I like the top left house because of it's complexity and two stories, I'm on the computer a good amount so some stairs in the house would do me well.

Although I think we could get it to look a little bit better and I want it to be like, 5 times bigger.

Let's use an image prompt to try and get more detail and make it way bigger while still keeping the general feel of the image.

So here's the plan:

1. We'll upscale the second image
2. Get it's url
3. Add the words "Real-Estate Photography" to make it more realistic
4. Add the words "massive futuristic mansion" to make it bigger and have a cool design
5. Add the Image to the prompt to keep the feel of the image
6. Re-roll and see what happens

First we'll upscale Image 2 by clicking the "U2" button:

Then let's open the upscaled version in the browser so we can get it's url.

Just click on the image for desktop and select "open in browser" or hold down on the image for mobile.

Yeah that's looking nice.

Now that we have our url lets make an image prompt.

Were adding a few different words and adding a reference image, so now it should look something like this:

That's more like it!

Adding futuristic gave it those nice curvy edges and unique design.

The fourth one is my favorite for sure.

Now let's use it to get a few more angles.

Let's do a night shot from the side.

And lastly we'll get one with some mountains in the background during sunset.

Perfect, now we can showcase a solid view of the house from every angle, those huge mountains in the background add a touch of mystery. Plus, I still get my stairs.

Now let's design the inside!

2. Living Room Interior Design with Midjourney

It would be great to have a modern house with some tasteful Japanese accents to the design. Let's start with the living room.

To make the living room we just have to make a slight tweak to our prompt:

1. Add "Interior Architecture" instead of "Outside view".
2. Swap out "Unique" with "Japanese".

Now we have this:

Here's the result:

Not bad, I like the third image.

However they are a little lackluster.

After a couple re-runs these two stood out to me:

We have a big house here, let's take them both.

Imagine the views of the sunset!

Or we could /imagine the views of the sunset.

Pretty sweet, Let's stick with our original living room though.

3. Kitchen Interior Design with Midjourney

Now let's get cookin!

Let's change our prompt around again to use similar designs but focus on the kitchen. This time let's throw "Futuristic" in there and see what happens

I like the tasteful island block in the second image. The dinning section doesn't have a table though.

Let's get some more versions of image 2.

Perfect

I could drink a morning coffee on that table for the rest of my life.

Now for a proper dining room.

4. Creating a Dining Room with Midjourney

I'm loving the turquoise but for the dining room let's try something different. I'm looking for something moody, something romantic and warm.

It looks like the "turquoise ocean" part of the prompt is giving everything else some turquoise. That's a pretty neat fish tank though

Let's change that to "ocean" and add some "warm lighting" to the end.

Now our prompt looks like this:

Much better, I love the stone and the fire on the second and fourth images. Although that view from the third image is pretty attractive.

Let's go with that.

5. Creating a Master bedroom with Midjourney

Now let's do the master! For this I'd like something clean and uncluttered.

For an added touch let's make it during sunrise to see what it would look like in the morning.

I love that view on the second image. Let's make an image prompt and see if we can make the room a little bigger though

First we upscale it:

Then we get its image url.

And now we can add it to our prompt.

Let's also add the word "Massive".

Note: since we're using the image as a reference, Midjourney will try and stay pretty close to this design. I expect it to get a little bigger however if we did not use an image prompt the changes would be more dramatic.

Perfect! Let's go with the third one.

I could totally see my wife and I watching the sunrise on that beautiful patio. Plus if we tried to sleep in we'd be scorched and blinded by the sun every morning which would make our lives more productive!

6. Creating a Guest bedroom with Midjourney

Now we have to make a place to put our friends and family when they come and visit. Let's make their trip memorable.

I have a few ideas.

1. Under a fish tank.
2. Inside the hill in a cave/room.
3. In a glass tree house beside the property

Let's try them out and pick the best one! Then we'll use the other two for extra bedrooms in the house.

1. Guest Bedroom Under a Fish Tank

Let's start with a prompt to get us a room under the pool.

Lovely, but no pool in sight.

Having a pool on your ceiling is not really a normal thing. So for this one let's use prompt weights.

Prompt weights can tell Midjourney what part of the prompt we want to emphasize more then the rest of the prompt.

The weights looks like this ::1 ::2 ::3

So we could say "forest::1 house::1" and we'd likely get a house in the forest however if we used "forest::2 house::1" Midjourney would put twice the effort into generating a forest then it would into the house.

Let's put it to work!

As you can see everything has a prompt weight of 1 other then "with a pool as the ceiling" which has a weight of 2.

Much better! I actually like this one the best:

2. Guest Bedroom in a Cave

Okay here's the prompt we'll start with:

And he's the result.

Nice, I'm happy with the fourth image. The lights on the rocks behind the bed 🔥

3. Guest House in the Trees

Let's start with this prompt and see where is goes:

I've always loved the bathrooms that have a lot of tropical plants in them. It just makes sense because the plants love the humid environment. Let's see if we can make it!

I'm torn between Image 3 and Image 4.

Just imagine soaking in that tub with the door open while it's raining and all the water is pouring off the leaves. The sound alone would be glorious.

That's pretty nice!

8. Creating an Office Design with Midjourney

I work from home. So my office space needs to be something I can be in a lot. I'm thinking lots of natural light that is on a higher part of the house so it feels like we're in the trees. TONS of windows and some cool plants.

Let's give this a shot:

Sometimes by throwing "photography" in there is produces more real looking images.

Yeah I'd be happy working from any of these honestly. Let's go with that second image though.

That Black volcanic rock around the ground really adds a natural element of Hawaii to this one.

Plus look how realistic that is!

9. Creating a Swimming Pool with Midjourney

My goal is to have an infinity pool that fell like you're going to fall right into the jungle. Awesome views of the sunset are a MUST and any shape but rectangle.

What more could a man ask for?

I think this one takes the cake. It's very real looking plus it matched out original home design pretty well.

I'd like to give an honorable mention to these two though:

10. Creating a Garage in Hawaii with Midjourney

I'm not too particular with the garage. I just want some nice looking cars, some practical storage and let's let Midjourney come up with the rest.

Let's start with this prompt:

Pretty sweet. Let's go with the fourth image.

Although it does make me a little nervous have all my nice cars so close to the edge of that cliff.

Perfect, I think that wraps up all the images for the house it self!

11. Creating Adventure Photos in Hawaii with Midjourney

Now that we have all the photos for our real estate listing, let's create some photos of what to do in the surrounding area and shots of the landscape on the island.

I'm thinking we should include:

1. Hike to local waterfalls
2. Go whale watching
3. Watch the wildlife in the jungle
4. Go snorkeling
5. Photo of the island
6. Photo of a beach cove

After we get all of these we should have a complete listing of our Hawaiian dream home!

Then I'll build a listing at the end to display all of our beautiful creations.

Let's start with this prompt:

Perfect, let's stick with the first image. It looks realistic and I love the motion blur on the water.

3. Bushwhack Through the Exotic Jungles

The photography prompt is getting some good results so let's use it in the jungle too.

4. Creating a Photo of a Tropical Snorkeling Tour With Midjourney

We're going to go with this prompt and keep it short and sweet.

That's beautiful. Sometimes l prefer letting Midjourney have more creative control on the images so it can come up with things I didn't have in mind.

Like the split under/above water shots!

5. Arial View of the whole Island With Midjourney

Now that we have all of our adventure shots. Let's get a photo of the entire island so potential buyers can get a better idea of the landscape.

To start let's make a generic prompt that has something to do with an arial view of Hawaii and see where that gets us.

Creating a Real Estate Description with ChatGPT-4

Now that we have all of our images created, Let's use GPT-4 to write a real estate listing for us!

We'll give it a detailed description of the property and the surrounding area and see what it comes up with.

First we're going to use ChatGPT to generate a prompt of us using this prompt generator I made: ChatGPT Prompt Cheat Sheet

Now we have this specialized prompt that will get us a better output than just typing it in ourselves:

After plugging in this descripting into the prompt we had ChatGPT create, now we got our listing description!

Creating a Real Estate Listing with Webflow
